ok so i couldn't sleep because i kept thinking of this radio broadcast that i heard a few months back in california.

"there is surely wisdom in waiting for a boy who's a diamond in the rough (to turn into a man). but that process becomes foolish (and a tad bit dangerous) when we mistaken diamond in the rough's for cut glass or vice versa. You will figure out which is the other when pressure hits. The cut glass breaks under intense pressure, but the diamond in the rough only becomes more beautiful as an outcome."

spoken by a pastor on the talkshow. paraphrased to a point where maybe 17% of the words are original. but the meaning stands.

diamond in the rough's will eventually become true, brilliant diamonds. Cut glass looks pretty now, but we all know that it's still just cheap jewelry.
